Welcome to the first edition to Friday Features! Seriously though, what would go through your mind if you saw a raptor!?? Would you not say to yourself, hey, these things are extinct? I guess maybe not. </li><li><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r7wHMg5Yjg" target="_blank">I'd like to be a honey badger in my next life. </a> Because venom doesn't kill you. Just makes you sleepy. (Another video thanks to my brother) FYI - It has some not safe for kids words. ;)</li><li>I went to the <i>loveliest </i>of weddings this past weekend. I don't drink alcohol very often, but they served a Pear sangria and I downed two drinks before I knew it. (It was pretty light - so I think the alcohol content was low.) But I loved it so, and now am <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=pear%20sangria&rs=ac&len=12" target="_blank">trying to find a recipe to recreate it.</a> (It was white wine and had blueberries in it) I may have to e-mail the venue to ask for the recipe. Because I'm obsessive like that. </li><li>Tomorrow is<a href="http://blog.westelm.com/2014/04/04/etsy-pop-west-elm-toronto-emma-reddington/" target="_blank"> the Etsy Pop Up at West Elm</a> and I'll be stopping by with Oscar to go say hello to some of my friends. How long I stay depends on my date. </li><li><a href="http://www.pinterest.com/littlehouseblog/bicycles/" target="_blank">I'm still looking at bikes</a> - thanks for all your advice in a previous post, I'm reading all your suggestions! <a href="http://www.criticalcycles.com/black-dutch-style-step-thru-seven-speed-city-bike-299.html" target="_blank">But how cute is this one?</a></li><li>We're in search of a new car. <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/164170348890946996/" target="_blank">I would like this one, and put a surfboard on it.</a> I spotted<a href="http://instagram.com/p/nJN490QstT/" target="_blank"> this one</a> on the road with Oscar and like it too. ;) Kidding aside, we are researching small SUV's (Crossovers?) It reminds me of the cottage and also, is just such a great way to connect with friends - roasting mashmallows over an open flame. We're lucky to have a REALLY long backyard that backs onto a laneway - a perfect spot to put a pit - so that the smoke doesn't bother any neighbours that may have an open window. Far enough away, the smell of burning wood really is lovely. But not so much if it's right by your window. So I consider us lucky with having a really long backyard. Aubrey bought one for me a few weeks ago, and this week we had an impromptu bonfire with Oscar's friends and roasted marshmallows after dinner.<br /><br />Although I would have loved a stone firepit incorporated into our garden, they are terribly expensive and I'm not sold on that our garden design as it currently is, is going to stay as such. So something like this (around $100) is perfect. Love it!

Black & White (and pink!) Home Office Mood Board

While Justin finishes up a couple of last remodel projects and helps me write the tutorials, I thought I'd share something a little simpler. We've got a Home Office makeover in our near future, and you know how I am with mood boards. I <i>have</i> to put together my vision before <i>anything</i> can be purchased.<br /><br />I'm digging the black & white theme for a Home Office, with a little bit of modern flair. Master Bedroom Book Nook & Shoe Organization

Today is another <i>(mini)</i> reveal of a project from our Master Suite remodel. Thank you to everyone for the kind comments on our <a href="http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2014/04/master-bathroom-reveal.html" target="_blank">Master Bathroom reveal</a> that we shared yesterday. We're so happy that you all love it as much as we do. It was a long and grueling process, but entirely worth it at the end.<br /><br />So today I'm sharing the Book Nook of our Master Bedroom. We knew we wanted lots of storage in our Master Suite, as well as a nice place that I can cuddle up with a book <i>(while Justin's likely downstairs playing video games)</i>. Once we've got the rest of the house cleaned up and have moved our "official" bookshelf back into the house <i>(it's been stored int he garage during the remodel)</i>, then I might move that row of books downstairs so I can fit more shoes in this baby.
