ALEX Hotel Marseille

A few weeks ago I was invited to try out a brand new boutique hotel in Marseille, <a href="http://www.alex-hotel.fr/" target="_blank">ALEX Hotel.</a> The hotel is ideally located in the city centre a few minutes walk from the monumental stairs of the main train station Saint Charles. Designed by the architechts from <a href="http://www.togu-architecture.com/" target="_blank">TOGU </a>studio, the hotel has a classic external architecture with a classified facade. However, the interior design has a contemporary and eclectic vibe, where modern concrete desks flirt with traditional cement tiles.<br /><br /><i>Il y a quelques semaines, j'étais invitée à essayer un tout nouveau boutique hôtel à Marseille, <a href="http://www.alex-hotel.fr/" target="_blank">ALEX Hotel.</a> L'hôtel est idéalement situé au coeur du centre veille, à quelques minutes à pied du monumental escalier de la gare Saint Charles. Signé par les architectes du cabinet <a href="http://www.togu-architecture.com/" target="_blank">TOGU</a>, l'ALEX Hotel est classique dans son architecture extérieure, ses façades étant d'ailleurs classées aux bâtiments de France. My room was located on the top 4th floor (in grey/red). I loved the breathtaking view of Marseille, but also the sober design and the excellent bedding comfort - essential!<br /><br /><i>A l'image de la diversité de Marseille, chaque étage a sa propre couleur: orange, vert, bleu et gris/rouge. </i><i>Ma chambre était située au 4ème et dernier étage (en gris/rouge). Villa Mörtnäs

The minimalist and contemporary architecture of <a href="http://www.wrede.se/objekt/448083?qt-item_tabs=1#qt-item_tabs" target="_blank">this house located close to Stockholm</a> is created by the international architecture studio <a href="http://www.fourfoursixsix.com/" target="_blank">fourfoursixsix</a>. The white and airy backdrop is warmed up by darker accents in brown, wine red, teal, green, dusty pink... a clear trend in Scandinavian interiors right now. This colour scheme is also quite <a href="http://www.pantone.com/pages/index.aspx?pg=21163&from=hp" target="_blank">in line with Pantone's colour for 2015: Marsala</a>.<br /><br /><i>L'architecture minimaliste et contemporaine de <a href="http://www.wrede.se/objekt/448083?qt-item_tabs=1#qt-item_tabs" target="_blank">cette maison située près du Stockholm</a> a été créée par le studio d'architecture international <a href="http://www.fourfoursixsix.com/" target="_blank">fourfoursixsix</a>. Blog tour Amsterdam - Volkshotel, Uber and a roundup

1st of Advent

This poor blog is suffering from too much work elsewhere at the moment (like preparing Christmas <a href="http://www.lamaisondannag.com/fr/" target="_blank">in the shop</a> for ex.), hence the bad updating... I haven't even had the time to prepare my home for the 1st of Advent which probably has never happened before! Anyway, this pretty much resumes what I'm longing for right now: simplicity and tranquility.<br />You'll find more Christmas inspiration on my <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/LaMaison_dAnnaG/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>, which btw now has more than 60 000 followers - thanks to all those who are following me there too!<br /><br /><i>Ce pauvre blog souffre de la surcharge de travail ailleurs en ce moment (comme préparer Noël <a href="http://www.lamaisondannag.com/fr/" target="_blank">dans le shop</a> par ex.), ce qui explique le manque d'activité ici... In addition to the frustration on the name of the blog, I've struggled with the limitations on design that having a Blogger blog has. I'm finicky with the look of a blog. The difference between 1 pixel or 2 I notice. Blogger has been awesome for awhile, but I knew it was time for a change. I adore blogging because it gives me an outlet for creativity - but when your canvas is limiting, well, it's frustrating.  In the blogger world, a blog move is a little panicky. I'll loose readers! Oh no! What if people don't follow. But I've long explained that blogging is for me, a great outlet and so I can't stay here, for fear of no one coming over.
