Today is Day 2 of seeing behind the curtain of our Master Bedroom remodel, and I'm sharing how I easily updated my favorite lamps to fit within our new color scheme.

How to Update your Table Lamps

Our neon green lamps are my absolute favorite. Justin bought them for my birthday 3 or 4 years ago, and I absolutely love them, but the neon green just doesn't work with our house's new color scheme. So rather than tuck them away in a closet for years and years, I decided to paint them navy so I can continue to love them.

The decision to paint these was one of the hardest decisions in our entire remodel & redecorating project. Seriously. I went back and forth on painting these lamps for months, but in the end, I'm really glad that I did it.

Here's how they used to look. (LOVED them)

And the updating of these lamps was so easy, they went from green to navy in less than 30 minutes!

Step 1: Tape off all of the areas that you don't want painted with blue painters tape. I made sure and covered those areas really well. I didn't want any paint to sneak through in areas that I didn't want them - including down the cord.

Step 2:  Spray paint away!! Remember to follow these tips for spray painting to ensure that you have a nice, smooth finish with no runs. I ended up putting on three light coats on each lamp.

Note: I would highly recommend only spray painting outside unless you have a spray booth. Because we're remodeling our second floor and it doesn't matter where the paint sprays, I spray painted inside.

Step 3: Make sure to allow about 1 hour for the lamps to dry before you touch or move them.

And you're done! Simple, right?

I'm so happy with how they turned out. Justin even mentioned that he was surprised at how nice they look and he didn't know that spray painting could look so good. Score!
