Want to know how I updated an old, mirrored tray found in the dumpster to this beautiful striped piece?

DIY Striped Tray

Spray paint!

If you've been following along for long, you know that I spray paint everything! Like this, this, this and this. It's such an easy way to give something an upgrade or to make a beloved piece fit into a new color scheme.

This edition is taking this ugly tray that I found in the dumpster at work and updating it to an eye-catching striped tray that goes along with our updated living room wonderfully!

Here are a few before photos.

Now onto the spray painting. I painted the entire front and back with a white semi-gloss.

Tray Pre-Spray Paint

After letting the white dry for about an hour (I'm super impatient...) I taped off 1.5" stripes with blue painters tape.

And then took out my favorite can of pink spray paint and went to town.

Gorgeous. A eye-catching update that took minimal effort.

What do you think? Do you love the stripes as much as I do?
