Inspired by a GREEN bed

Now that you know our <a href="http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/08/master-bedroom-rennovation_28.html" target="_blank">Master Suite remodeling plans</a> that's quickly approaching, you understand my excitement around decorating our new spaces! <br /><br />I've decided to try and tackle the Master Bedroom decor first, leaving the more difficult bathroom design for later.<br /><br />I <b><i>thought</i></b> it would be easy to come up with a style for our bedroom, but I'm wavering between several different styles and can't decide what I'll want to live with for a couple of years. I change my design style so frequently, it's hard to commit. So I'll be creating a few different mood boards and then will (one day in the future) compare them against each other to make a final decision. <br /><br />You've already seen <a href="http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/08/bedroom-decor-inspiration.html" target="_blank">my first mood board</a> created last week with my inspiration stemming from a gorgeous bed from CB2. And today I'm inspired by yet another gorgeous bed. <i> </i><br /><br /><i>Note: Let's all use our imagination and pretend that all of the browns in the mood board are black. Don't worry mom, I'm not going to be spending $900 on artwork....)</i><br /><br />6 // <a href="http://www.wayfair.com/Skyline-Furniture-Canopy-Stripe-Fabric-Storage-Bench-848CNPSTRBLC-SKY4141.html" target="_blank">Striped Storage Bench</a> // I'd like to put a storage bench at the foot of our bed, and I have every bit of faith that this black and white striped bench would look amazing with the green!<br /><br /> 7 // <a href="http://www.lampsplus.com/products/robert-abbey-lily-white-triple-gourd-ceramic-buffet-lamp__v4148.html" target="_blank">White Table Lamp </a>// Since the lamps will be seen against the black focal wall and next to the green headboard, I think it would best for them to be all white. <br /><br /> 8 // <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/kelly_green_decorative_solid_color_throw_pillow-189043202503405037" target="_blank">Green Pillow</a> // I'd plan to add in small pops of kelly green throughout the room to match with the bed and further tie the room together. <br /><br /> 9 // <a href="http://www.gretelhome.com/omaggio-by-kahler-design/601-large-black-and-white-omaggio-vase.html" target="_blank">Black and White Vase</a> // And the remainder of the accents throughout the room would be a very classic black and white like this vase! <br /><br />What do you think? Kitchen inspiration from Oliver & Bonacini

(Shown above) It's silly as it truly is quite nice. However a few things are rubbing me the wrong way. The table is a tone of wood I don't like - but on the flip side, the shape and size of the table is perfect for our home. I've looked into having it stripped and stained a new colour - but the price to do that is way out of our budget. Next - the chairs match the table, but aren't all that comfy nor do they look great. The light we have hanging above the table I think is going soon (I'll probably sell it) and I have my eye on one but it is pretty expensive - so we'll see how it plays out. I loved the gray with white trim, and that dark wood. So the bathroom isn't done, so I'm not about to take on a new project (just yet) but I thought it was interesting where you can find inspiration - I'm now on the hunt for these chairs, and I'm now considering painting my wood table dark grey. I think it will be a budget way to get an amazing look. Master Bedroom Renovation

Hi friends! Today's a big day because I've got renovation plans to start sharing with you. <br /><br />While I haven't posted a <a href="http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/06/my-little-honey-do-list.html" target="_blank">To Do List </a>update in quite some time, most of you know that we've got a pretty big remodel in our near future. We've been planning on this remodel for almost a year, but wanted to wait until we're done marathon training before diving into such a big undertaking - and that day is almost here! <br /><br />Last weekend, Justin & I spent much of our Friday night & Saturday planning and drafting out our Master Bedroom remodel, and I want to share them with you!  <br /><br />To give you some context, here's what our room looks like currently with square boxes showing where dressers and bookshelves are placed around the gigantic room. This space used to be two rooms; our living room + "master" bedroom, with a wall straight down the center - but we tore down the wall and opened the space up when we moved back to MN last year! Justin & I will be doing almost everything ourselves, sans plumbing and electrical work. Lucky for me he's a talented carpenter, and unlucky for me that I'm not (oh...and that there's only two of us!!).<br /><br />But I honestly can't wait for the day that I don't have to trek down the stairs in the middle of the night for a pee break. Seriously.<br /><br />Getting me equally excited is the design work and DIY projects that are to come with this renovation! I've already started developing a few mood boards for potential bedroom designs like <a href="http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/08/bedroom-decor-inspiration.html" target="_blank">this one</a> (and a couple more on their way).<br /><br />  And I haven't even started thinking about the bathroom design yet! Oh, the possibilities!!<br /><br />I'll of course keep y'all updated along the way. It looks like a gold nugget and sits flat against my chest.The necklace chain is so thin that it almost disappears against my skin making the nugget look like it is floating on my neck.<br /><br />I have fond memories of buying it - When I was pregnant I was pretty bummed out a lot of the time. I was sick my entire pregnancy and gained a lot of weight. Nothing fit, and if something did fit, I just didn't feel pretty*. So when this necklace arrived I remember feeling like I had something special on. Four years later it is <i>still </i>one of my favourite pieces. I wear it all the time- it is discrete enough that I can wear it with a t-shirt (as I am below) or it can come off as a statement piece when paired with a more formal outfit. I was pretty excited because my beloved necklace was available in so many different colours. After searching Etsy more for "<a href="http://bit.ly/153zftG" target="_blank">Druzy necklaces</a>" I came across a <i>ton </i>of necklaces much like my own and unfortunately for me - all at much better prices than what I had paid. Although you can <a href="http://bit.ly/153zftG" target="_blank">search Etsy for Druzy pieces </a>I've put<a href="http://bit.ly/16ov1gw" target="_blank"> a few of my favourites</a>, including the ones above,<a href="http://bit.ly/16ov1gw" target="_blank"> on this page. </a> I have a few in my own cart, and I'm waiting for a moment to buy some more.<br /><br />I think this is maybe why I love jewelry so much - A perfect piece can make you feel pretty when the nicest of clothes can't. Formex

J'espère que vous avez passé un excellent été! Comme vous avez pu le constater, j'ai pris un peu de vacances... Après avoir passé quelques semaines en famille en Suède, je suis de retour à Paris depuis hier soir, mais seulement pour refaire mes bagages et repartir à Copenhague demain!<br /><br />Mon séjour en Suède n'était pas uniquement des vacances, j'ai quand même travaillé un peu aussi... Mais si ce n'est pas le cas ou si vous en voulez encore, voici mes impressions et coups de coeur!<br /><br />Pour résumer, j'ai vu du cuivre absolument PARTOUT, pas mal de laiton, beaucoup de gris sobre mais aussi des endroits l'éclectiques et colorés ("Eclectic touch" était d'ailleurs le thème de Formex cette fois-ci), et plein de produits en bois et en rotin. Je n'ai rien vu de très innovant, mais j'ai trouvé quelques jolis objets quand même.<br /><i><br /></i><i>You might have seen quite a few pictures from <a href="http://www.formex.se/?sc_lang=en" target="_blank">Formex </a>already on the Scandinavian blogs so I won't bore you with a complete review of the fair... But in case you haven't or still want more, here are my impressions and favourites from the fair!</i><br /><i><br /></i><i>To sum up, I saw copper absolutey EVERYWHERE, quite a lot of brass, lots of sober grey but also eclectic and colorful areas ("Eclectic touch" was the theme of this Formex btw), and many products in wood and rattan.
