Maison&Objet 2015 #1 The Green Trend

The green trend is bigger than ever right now, which was also very visible at the latest edition of Maison&Objet end of January. Not only were there green plants everywhere (I have never seen so many cactuses in one place...!), but many brands also presented hanging planters, pedestals and indoor jardineres among their news... Often with clear influences from the 70's.<br /><br /><i>La tendance verte est plus forte que jamais en ce moment, ce qui était aussi clairement visible au dernier Maison&Objet fin janvier. Non seulement il y avait des plantes vertes partout (je n'ai jamais vu autant de cactus en un seul endroit..!), mais de nombreuses marques ont également présenté des pots suspendus, piédestaux et jardinières d'intérieur... Ilse Crawford + IKEA

I'm finally back after the longest blog break in history, and I have loads of things to show you! First of all, I just returned from an inspiring trip to <a href="http://www.stockholmfurniturelightfair.se/" target="_blank">Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair</a> / <a href="http://www.stockholmdesignweek.com/" target="_blank">Design Week</a> where I saw some great new design. Prior to that, I also spent two whole days exploring the latest trends at <a href="http://www.maison-objet.com/fr" target="_blank">Maison & Objet</a> here in Paris. Monochrome old farmhouse

Maison&Objet - Words by Elizabeth Leriche

The trend theme for this latest Maison&Objet was "Sharing", a dynamic of creative sharing in the digital age. Contrasts

Je trouve que les contrastes rendent une maison plus vivante et moins prévisible, que ca soit un mélange de styles, de couleurs ou de matériaux. Cet appartement n'est peut-être pas très personnel (il a été aménagé <a href="http://www.fantasticfrank.se/objektmall/?obj=OBJ17365_1341710315" target="_blank">pour être vendu</a> après tout), mais il joue beaucoup sur les contrastes: une palette un peu maussade de brun-vert-bleu sur un fond d'un blanc immaculé, la chaleur de la laine contre le froid du métal, le noir contre le blanc etc.<br /><br /><i>I think contrasts make a home more living and less predictible, whether you are mixing styles, colours or materials. </i><i>This flat might not be so personal (it's <a href="http://www.fantasticfrank.se/objektmall/?obj=OBJ17365_1341710315" target="_blank">staged to be sold</a> after all), but it's playing a lot with contrasts: a little sullen palette of brown-green-blue on a crisp white backdrop, warm wool against cold metal, black against white etc.</i><br /><i><br /></i><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Formex part 2

<div>Dans la catégorie mieux vaut tard que jamais, voici la 2ème partie de mon résumé de <a href="http://www.formex.se/" target="_blank">Formex</a>! Vous pouvez <a href="http://lamaisondannag.blogspot.fr/2014/01/formex-day-dream.html" target="_blank">voir la 1ère partie ici</a>.<br />Globalement, la nature avait envahi le salon, avec de la verdure partout. J'ai vu du verre coloré à l'ancienne en vert et ambre, beaucoup de céramiques et aussi du marbre et d'autres pierres. Un peu moins de cuivre qu'au dernier salon, mais pas mal de laiton. Les motifs graphiques sont toujours là, mais également des motifs plus ethniques ou florales. J'ai vu plus de couleurs qu'au dernier salon, peut-être signe d'un certain optimisme général?
